System Administrator – Exchange & Networking
Location: AZ, CA, GA, FL, IL, MI, MO, OR, PA, TN, TX Salary Range: $75,000 – $95,000
Job Description:
We are seeking a System Administrator with expertise in Microsoft Exchange and networking to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and securing email systems, maintaining network infrastructure, and ensuring system reliability. This role requires hands-on experience with Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, firewalls, routers, and network security.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and maintain Microsoft Exchange email systems, including mailbox management, security policies, spam filtering, and email encryption.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs).
- Ensure high availability and security of email and network systems through regular audits, updates, and best practices.
- Implement disaster recovery and backup strategies for Exchange and network services.
- Maintain Active Directory (AD), Azure AD (Entra ID), DNS, DHCP, and Group Policies.
- Configure and manage firewalls and intrusion prevention systems to protect against cyber threats.
- Provide technical support for email-related issues, network outages, and system failures.
- Collaborate with IT teams to optimize cloud-based email and network solutions.
- Document system configurations, policies, and troubleshooting procedures.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 5+ years of experience as a System Administrator focusing on Exchange and networking.
- Strong understanding of email security, spam protection, and compliance standards.
- Experience with networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, SMTP).
- Knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and Azure AD (Entra ID).
- Familiarity with PowerShell scripting for automation and system administration.
- Experience with firewalls, IDS/IPS, and network monitoring tools.
Recommended Certifications:
- Microsoft 365 Certified: Messaging Administrator Associate (for Exchange expertise).
- CompTIA Network+ or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) (for networking skills).
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (for cloud-based Exchange solutions).
- CompTIA Security+ or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) (for cybersecurity knowledge).
Preffered Skills:
- Experience with hybrid Exchange deployments and Microsoft 365 migration.
- Knowledge of SIEM tools, email encryption, and compliance frameworks (HIPAA, GDPR, NIST).
- Ability to troubleshoot email deliverability and network performance issues.
Salary Range:
- $75,000 – $95,000 (Depending on experience and certifications)
